History:

The arms of the crown colony of Singapore were a derivative of the arms of the Straits Settlements, confirmed by a Royal Warrant in 1948, now augmented with a crest for Singapore.

The Tower and Lion motif is representative of Singapore as the Lion City, a motif that can be spotted in several design aspects, such as within the Singapore Armed Forces No.1 Uniform button.
