Koel is a project submission for UAL Unit Module 7. It centres on experiences of home and living in the United Kingdom from the perspective of international students, with a particular focus on Singaporean students.

The project aimed to create a publication platform for international students and Singaporeans named Koel, after the iconic bird. It will be present in both digital and physical format, aiming to assist and give a voice to students in the UK and students preparing to move into the country.

In that effort, we created the branding for the platform and a proposed publication series covering topics such as finding accommodation, how to do grocery shopping and socialising. 

The branding and publication took heavy inspiration from Penguin books and their distinctive 70s cover styles.
